The benefits of enameled cast iron
Enamelled cast iron is a combination of carbon-rich iron with an enamel coating that
consists primarily of glass. It is one of those materials that retain heat very well,
transfer it slowly and distribute it absolutely evenly - on all types of stoves, including induction. But enameled
cast iron also preserves cold. It is sufficient
to put the prepared dish in the refrigerator before serving.
Dust humidification system
Thanks to the high-quality workmanship of the cocotte lids, less
condensation escapes during the cooking process. After a cooking time of 55 minutes, the Staub Cocotte contains 10% more moisture compared to
competing products.* The self-humidification system is based on knobs that
are distributed over the entire surface on the inside of the lid. They ensure a continuous “rain” of
condensation onto the food. Staub's lid system for independently drizzling food is
nine times more powerful than conventional lids.**
